Brownie Brown

Mr. Kameoka

I am Kameoka from Brownie Brown Corporation, and we are working with Mr. Sakaguchi on developing the software for Nintendo DS called "Blue Dragon Plus".

Never heard of "Brownie Brown?" I think there are a lot of people who say that, so let me introduce our company to you first.

Staff who made "Seiken Densetsu: Legend of Mana," a game from Square in June of 2000, took a leading part in establishing a 100% subsidiary company of Nintendo. The company has been established for nearly 8 years.

Our masterworks are the "Magical Vacation" series, "Mother 3" (for Nintendo Co., Ltd.) "Sword of Mana" and "Heroes of Mana" (for Square-Enix Co., Ltd.). Our company's view is to create works that are strong in making a fantastical vision that has the dotted image of 2D. From the touch of light fantasy like in Mother 3, to the touch of full-fledged fantasy like in Seiken Densetsu and Blue Dragon Plus, our art style and creative graphics are our company's weapon. We have about 30 people on staff right now who work in our main studio in Kichijoji, Tokyo.

Oh yes, the town of Kichijoji; it's a good town. There are many restaurants, which are all pretty good. For those whose hobbies and work are making things, plenty of specialty shops are a very good environment. So there are a lot of animation and game companies in this town, and many cartoonists live here, too. Plus, there's a lot of green in this town. What else can I say? We're surrounded with a good environment, so good creations can be made. "Blue Dragon Plus" is also being created here in Kichijoji. So please, look forward to that!

One of Mr. Sakaguchi's favorite places is Kichijoji famous "Harmonica Alley." Strange-looking restaurants line the alley shopping area. Last time, we ate fried kangaroo in a tilted second-story Japanese-style room.

Next time when I go drinking with Mr. Sakaguchi in this town, we'll make it a cerebration. Even if that's in a tilted four-and-a-half tatami-mat, musty Japanese-style room, where they serve grilled chicken sticks for 80 yen. I think it will probably be the best liquor we taste all year.

Until then, I'll have patience.
