Enormous Power 2009.6.16
It's been a while since I've gone to the beach. Hearing it was
supposed to be 4 to 5 foot waves, I thought it would be too much, but
it was more than that. After wiping out and being washed away by the
powerful waves, I realized the extent of my meager surfing skills.
Wow, the power of the white wash after the waves break. It felt like
it was washing my body. No, it was more than that.
In a strange way, the refreshing feeling that comes afterwards was
like when I went to Yoshida Shrine in Kyoto for Yakubarai* on my
Yakudoshi**. I felt like my body was purified. The coarse skin on my
shoulders is washed off. My bloodshot eyes, probably caused by
damaged blood vessels during my plane flight, are gone. I take in
energy and purification I can't explain. Naturally, the muscle aches
come as well. The muscles of my back and shoulders that I normally
don't use often are especially painful. Right now, at this moment,
there are pain relief patches plastered all over my body (^^;
