Flight
Benefits of 'Playing Around' 2009.8.14
I tried flying. Well, it was more of putting motion blur on the background of a photo I took of angel wings at a park.
This type of 'playing around' has become beneficial in freeing myself from sudden feelings of closure. In a way, it's like daily jokes or humor on a larger scale. It's strange, but it opens up the heart and brings out a smile, making my work a lot more efficient. Thinking about game ideas, like "how can I make a player feel excited?", makes me rack my brain. But it's moments like this where playing is useful.
While 'playing around,' I see new things, I feel new things. Through the clarity, I accumulate something deep down. For some reason, it's always while in the water that embodies, "inspiration." It's mostly when taking a shower. I'm showered in hot water, standing at the start, as if being struck by a waterfall. And perhaps when I'm swimming at a pool and waiting for a wave while surfing. This really opens up the soul.
While saving up ripples of emotion by 'playing around,' your soul becomes calm and 'inspiration' will show itself from the waters.
